The client operates in the transport and logistics industry. The business manages a workshop and wash bay facility focused on the maintenance of tautliner and tipper trailers.

The Role: The Workshop Foreman

The focus areas include employee supervision, work order processing, quality control, and the maintenance of equipment and machinery.

• Provide 2 years or more workshop experience within a transport or logistics environment and 2 years experience on tautliner or tipper trailers.
• Oversee employees in the workshop and wash bay including recruitment, orientation, training, and scheduling.
• Manage work orders and enter job card information into the database while maintaining accurate work records.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on trailers and machinery or arrange for necessary equipment servicing.
• Review completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and deadlines.
• Enforce health and safety policies and ensure the site is free of hazardous materials.
• Order supplies and operate workshop machinery and heavy equipment when required.
• Inspect the workshop, wash bay, and equipment regularly to ensure they are organized and clean.

• Reside within a 15-20 km radius of Klerksoord, Pretoria North.
• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Qualified mechanic or similar qualification.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a transport or logistics workshop.
• Minimum 2 years experience specifically with tautliner and side tipper trailers.
• Medically fit and qualified to operate heavy machinery.
• Proficient in basic computer literacy and reading, interpreting, and composing work orders.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work a standard 45-hour workweek plus overtime and weekend hours.
• Calm and clear-headed in emergency situations with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
