Execute internal audits to evaluate risk management, controls, and governance frameworks
- Identify key risk areas through structured risk assessments and audit planning
- Perform audit fieldwork, including walkthroughs, control testing, and data analysis
- Prepare clear, insightful audit reports with practical recommendations
- Analyse root causes of findings and support management with improvement actions
- Review systems, processes, and controls to enhance operational efficiency
- Conduct audits of intermediaries, service providers, and key business areas
- Engage with stakeholders and present audit findings to senior management and committees
- Perform followâup reviews to ensure effective implementation of corrective actions
- Support development and improvement of audit methodologies and frameworks
- Mentor junior auditors and contribute to team development
- Collaborate with external and co-sourced audit service providers
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 36 years internal audit experience
- Strong knowledge of risk management, controls, and governance
- Experience in financial services, preferably shortâterm insurance
- Strong technical auditing skills including data analysis, process reviews, control testing
- Understanding of insurance legislation and regulatory environment
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problemâsolving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple audit assignments
Qualification:
- CIA or CA(SA) - non-negotiable
