Payroll & Tax Administrator

Job Title: Payroll & Tax Administrator (SARS Compliance, Payroll Administration & Contractor Tax Support)
Location: Rosenpark, Bellville

Employment Type: Permanent / Fixed-Term Contract

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Payroll & Tax Administrator with strong practical SARS administration experience to join our team.

Core Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

  • Formal bookkeeping/accounting/payroll training, AND
  • Practical SARS administration experience.

Key Duties & Technical Experience

Must have experience with:

  • SARS eFiling
  • EMP201 submissions
  • EMP501 reconciliations
  • IRP5/IT3(a) administration
  • VAT submissions (if applicable)
  • UIF and PAYE administration
  • Tax directives (where applicable)
  • Independent Contractor tax handling
  • Correspondence and dispute handling with SARS
  • Letter drafting and responding to SARS queries
  • Compliance document management

Qualifications & Professional Certifications

Certificate/Diploma in:

  • Payroll Administration
  • Bookkeeping
  • Accounting
  • Tax Administration

AND/OR

Recognised payroll certifications such as:

  • Sage VIP Payroll
  • Payroll Education (SAPA)
  • ICB Bookkeeping
  • SAIBA-related qualifications
  • Registration with the South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT) would be advantageous
Required Industry Experience
  • Minimum 35 years practical payroll/tax administration experience
  • Proven experience dealing directly with SARS
  • Solid practical tax and business-related accounting experience, including understanding of broader business tax compliance and reporting requirements

The successful individual should also:

  • Understand POPIA/confidentiality obligations
  • Be able to work accurately under deadlines
  • Have strong administrative and communication skills
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality at all times
The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining compliance standards.
