About the role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team as a Event Coordinator. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about hospitality, events, and customer service, and is eager to gain hands- on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with coordinating and managing client reservations and event bookings.
• Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other channels in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain and update reservation systems and event calendars.
• Support the planning and execution of events, including logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site support.
• Prepare event proposals, confirmations, and follow-up documentation.
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g., catering, operations) to ensure smooth event execution.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by providing excellent customer service throughout the booking and event process.
• Assist in post-event evaluations and reporting.

Requirements:

• South African unemployed YOUTH aged between 18 and 34
• Must not have taken part on the YES Programme before
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a qualification in Hospitality, Events Management, or a related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and organizational ability
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings when required.
