Job Overview

Our client, a well-established optometry practice based in Benoni, is seeking a friendly, well-presented, and well-spoken Receptionist / Optical Assistant to join their team.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and will receive training to assist the optometrist with basic optical duties. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people in a professional retail healthcare environment.

• Monday – Thursday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
• Friday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Every Second Saturday: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Sunday: Closed

• Welcoming and assisting patients in a professional and friendly manner
• Managing appointments and patient bookings
• Answering telephone and email enquiries
• Handling payments and basic administrative duties
• Maintaining a neat and organised reception area
• Assisting the optometrist (training will be provided)
• Supporting daily practice operations and retail activities

• Well presented with excellent communication skills
• Friendly, professional, and customer-service orientated personality
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Comfortable working retail hours
• Basic computer literacy
• Reliable and punctual

• Previous receptionist or retail experience
• Experience in a medical practice, optometry, or customer-facing environment
