Senior Accountant
A reputable and growing organisation within the mining and alloy resources sector is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join their finance team. Operating in an asset-intensive and operationally driven environment, the business offers exposure to complex cost structures, inventory management, and financial reporting processes.
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting reporting, compliance, and operational finance activities. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and broader teams, including operations and supply chain, to ensure strong financial control and insight across the business.
This role provides an excellent platform for a technically strong individual to develop within the mining and industrial sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review monthly financial reports, including journals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger transactions and supporting schedules
Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Perform cost analysis and assist with inventory accounting in a production environment
Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and internal policies
Liaise with auditors and assist with audit processes
Monitor and improve internal controls and financial processes
Support cash flow tracking and working capital management
Collaborate with operational teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education: CA(SA), CIMA, or BCom Honours with completed articlesExperience: 35 years post-article experience
Exposure to mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry environments is advantageousStrong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance
Experience with cost accounting and inventory will be beneficial
