Group financial manager

SUMMARY:

The Group Financial Manager will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing financial performance, and supporting executive decision-making. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and risk management within the property development sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and manage the full financial function, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth and sustainability.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, providing insights to senior management.
• Monitor cash flow, funding, and capital structures to ensure financial stability.
• Manage financial risk, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with banks, investors, and financial institutions for funding and investment opportunities.
• Conduct financial analysis on new and existing projects to assess profitability and viability.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost control and budget adherence.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CA(SA) or CIMA a distinct advantage).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of financial management experience, preferably in property development or real estate.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards in South Africa.
• Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and investment analysis.
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
