Stock Controller/ Warehouse Manager
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and disciplined Stock Controller / Warehouse Manager to take full responsibility for the control of spare parts within a manual stock-keeping environment. This role is suited to a hands-on individual with solid experience in spare parts stores and warehouse management.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and accurately book in spare parts against delivery notes and purchase orders. Allocate bins, label, pack, and store parts in an orderly and logical manner. Issue parts to technicians, workshop, and dispatch with correct documentation and strict sign-out control.Maintain accurate stock records using manual registers, bin cards, and basic spreadsheets. Conduct cycle counts and monthly stock takes, investigate variances, and report discrepancies. Monitor stock levels, identify low stock items, assist with minimum and maximum levels, and compile replenishment requests.
Ensure correct part identification including part numbers, descriptions, units of measure, and approved substitutions. Maintain a clean, organised, and secure stores environment. Support dispatch and collections, including correct packaging and verification that the correct parts are issued.
Experience Required
Proven experience in stock control, stores, or warehouse management is essential. Experience handling spare parts, preferably within an engineering, mechanical, or equipment environment, is required. Candidates must be comfortable working in a manual stock control environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
Skills and Competencies
High levels of administrative accuracy with strong discipline in paperwork, filing, and traceability. Basic computer skills including email and Excel or similar tools for simple stock control. Ability to read and understand part numbers, descriptions, and basic technical terminology.Effective communication skills when dealing with procurement, technicians, workshop staff, and administrative teams. Honest, reliable, and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision. Physically fit to operate in a stores environment, including standing and lifting within reasonable limits.
Advantageous Requirements
Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one. Experience with GRV and dispatch documentation processes. Exposure to industrial environments such as manufacturing, engineering, mining, cement, or packaging equipment sectors. Tertiary qualification in supply chain management or a related field.
