Accountant
A well-established and fast-paced organisation within the retail and distribution sector is seeking a skilled Accountant to join their finance team based in Epping, Cape Town.
This opportunity is ideal for a qualified finance professional with a BCom degree or Advanced Diploma and at least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end reporting processes. This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and enjoys taking ownership of the full accounting function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage general ledger accounts
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and process month-end journals
- Assist with month-end and year-end reporting
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
- Support audit preparation and provide required documentation
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Assist with ad hoc finance and accounting duties
Job Experience & Qualifications:
- BCom degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
- Strong general ledger and reconciliation experience
- Exposure to month-end and year-end processes
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and organisational skills
