The Role: Sales Director: Africa
This role exists to drive revenue growth and improve deal conversion across the financial services sector by closing enterprise platform deals and converting proof-of-concepts into commercial agreements. The Sales Director leads sales strategy execution and engages senior stakeholders to structure high-value agreements and ensure pipeline opportunities are driven to closure.The position is based in Johannesburg with a hybrid model and requires regular face-to-face client engagement and attendance at weekly in-office sales meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and close complex enterprise platform sales cycles with at least 5 years of experience in a B2B sales role.
- Drive conversion of proof-of-concepts into signed commercial agreements within banking, insurance, fintech, and payments sectors.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across financial services organisations.
- Lead contract negotiations and structure high-value licensing agreements.
- Build and maintain executive-level client relationships.
- Manage pipeline, forecasting, and revenue reporting.
- Maintain experience in data science or machine learning environments.
- Proven track record of closing complex B2B platform or SaaS deals.
- Strong B2B experience within banking, insurance, credit bureau, fintech, or payments sectors.
- Solid understanding of data engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning technologies.
- Strong knowledge of analytical solutions, predictive modelling, and analytics pipelines within banking or insurance.
- Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to executives and technical stakeholders.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive multiple opportunities to closure.
- Ability to work in a hybrid, client-facing environment with regular travel.
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle required.
