Business Unit Financial Manager

This role sits at the intersection of operational finance, commercial decision‑making, and stakeholder engagement. Youll act as a trusted financial partner to executive‑level stakeholders, manage a distributed finance team, and remain deeply involved in the detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full end‑to‑end financial management of a legal entity, operating as a mini‑CFO
• Revenue management across a high‑volume billing environment
• Oversight of debtors, collections, and client escalations
• Hands‑on operational finance including journals, reconciliations, and analysis
• Commercial involvement in contract reviews, pricing, and sales engagement
• Management, coaching, and development of a geographically distributed finance team
• Partnering with C‑suite stakeholders and senior management
• Ensuring compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and financial policies

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• BCom / BAcc or equivalent 3‑year tertiary qualification in Finance
• CA(SA) or CIMA
• 3 to 6+ years experience in a Financial Manager role
• Strong technical accounting exposure
• Proven IFRS knowledge, with IFRS 16 experience non‑negotiable
• Demonstrated people and stakeholder management experience
• Experience in high‑volume, deadline‑driven environments
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical capability
• Commercial acumen and problem‑solving skills
• Confident communication with senior stakeholders
• Fully onsite role
• Hands‑on operating style with ownership mentality
