Credit Controller

A fast‑scaling organization within the fintech space is seeking a Credit Controller to join its high‑performance finance team. Based in a dynamic, data‑driven environment, this role goes beyond traditional collections; focusing on risk management, process optimization, and cash flow performance.

This is not about dialling for rands. Its about engineering collections with precision, strengthening controls, and building scalable, efficient credit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform credit checks and onboard new customer accounts
• Drive collections within KPI targets while maintaining strong customer relationships
• Allocate and reconcile customer payments accurately
• Manage overdue accounts, payment plans, demand letters, and account holds
• Escalate high‑risk and bad debts to the Risk Committee
• Prepare weekly and month‑end age analysis reports with commentary
• Process debit order runs, refunds, and adjustment journals
• Maintain accurate customer master data
• Resolve customer queries efficiently and professionally
• Support audit requirements and ensure compliance with policies
• Drive continuous process improvement and workflow optimisation

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Degree / National Diploma in Credit Management or Accounting

• Minimum 5+ years experience in credit control and credit risk management
• Proven track record of successful debt collection
• Experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment
• Experience with Accpac or Microsoft Dynamics
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement
• Ability to balance firm collections with strong customer relationship management
