The Role: Logistics Team Leader
The Logistics Team Leader's main role is to oversee daily packing operations, delivery/logistics, and inventory control to ensure accurate, timely distribution of cakes and ingredients while maintaining quality, safety, and supplier relationships.This is a fast-paced, problem-solving role that requires thinking on your feet to support the company as it prepares for scale.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, train, schedule, and supervise packing and delivery staff while enforcing SOPs and safety rules, utilising your 2+ years of logistics or warehouse experience.
- Supervise the packing table to ensure correct packing, labelling, quality checks, and hygiene compliance.
- Manage distribution by scheduling and coordinating deliveries to shops and customers, and obtaining delivery evidence such as signatures or photos.
- Receive and record stock by checking incoming ingredients against POs or invoices, completing goods-in paperwork, and updating the inventory system.
- Control inventory by performing or coordinating cycle counts, monthly reconciliations, investigating variances, and reporting shrinkage.
- Manage approved supplier list, place orders within delegated limits, and escalate high-value orders for approval.
- Follow segregation-of-duties rules, obtain or seek dual sign-off where required, and maintain accurate records and CCTV or log evidence.
- Provide weekly inventory, wastage, and delivery performance reports to Operations and the Owner.
- 2+ years of logistics or warehouse experience, preferably in the food or retail industry.
- Valid driver's licence and a clean driving record.
- Experience with stock control systems and basic reconciliation.
- Excellent grasp of units of measure and proven success in a supervisory role.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and supervisory skills.
- An appetite for thinking on your feet, scaling a business, and steering a unique brand to success.
