Senior Financial Accountant

• BCom Accounting / Finance or equivalent (NQF Level 7 minimum)
• CA(SA) / SAIPA / CIMA or equivalent qualification (preferred)
• Minimum 10+ years experience in senior financial/accounting roles
• Strong experience in project accounting / project finance / contract accounting
• Solid understanding of IFRS and South African tax legislation
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (financial modelling, reconciliations, reporting)
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP / Sage / Pastel / Xero or similar)
• Strong audit exposure and experience liaising with external auditors

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end finance operations including reporting, controls, and compliance
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
• Maintain general ledger integrity and manage month-end close processes

• Manage financial oversight across multiple projects or contracts
• Prepare and monitor project budgets and cost tracking
• Analyse variances and provide insights into project performance
• Support billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition processes

• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Develop financial models and cash flow forecasts
• Support strategic financial planning and decision-making processes

• Prepare management accounts and board-level financial reports
• Provide detailed variance analysis and financial insights
• Support senior leadership with data-driven financial recommendations

• Coordinate internal and external audit processes
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and all relevant tax legislation
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
