Management Accountant
This role offers the opportunity to oversee the full finance function for 2 operational mines in the North West, providing strong exposure to operational and strategic finance.
My client operates in the mining space and offers a stable, fast-paced environment where financial accuracy and strong governance are critical. The role is based at Head Office in Centurion and will involve close interaction with senior management and mine-site stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the full management accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting and forecasting, and compliance with statutory and internal requirements. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate looking to build strong operational finance experience while adding value within a mining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
- Month-end close processes, including GL journals and reconciliations
- Financial reporting and variance analysis
- Budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for 2 mines
- Liaising with internal and external auditors
- Managing SARS submissions, including VAT, EMP201 and EMP501
- General ledger maintenance and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
- Providing financial insight and support to operational teams
- Utilising ERP systems and driving process improvements
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Education:
- BCom Accounting (essential)
- Articles completed will be an added advantage
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years relevant management accounting experience
- Experience within the Mining, Construction, or Manufacturing industries (preferred)
- Skills:
- ERP system experience is essential
- SAGE Accounting experience will be advantageous
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
