HR Administrator / HR Assistant – Luxury Lodge (Fixed-Term Contract) Outside Nelpsruit Mpumalanga | 5-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Live-In Position

About the Role

A prestigious 5-star luxury safari lodge in the Outside Nelspruit a Game Reserve is seeking an experienced and professional HR Administrator / HR Assistant to join their team on a fixed-term contract basis. This is a live-in, lodge-based position set within one of South Africa's most iconic Big Five wilderness destinations.

Working Roster

This is a rotational position: 6 weeks on / 2 weeks off. Accommodation and meals are provided at the lodge during your working rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • General HR administration and record-keeping
  • Maintaining and updating employee files and HR databases
  • Assisting with onboarding and induction of new staff
  • Leave administration and tracking
  • Support with payroll preparation and time and attendance
  • Drafting HR correspondence and communications
  • Ensuring compliance with labour legislation and lodge HR policies
  • Supporting management with any employee relations matters
Requirements
  • Relevant HR qualification (Diploma or Degree in HR Management or related field)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an HR administration role
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour law
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in hospitality or lodge environments will be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Must be comfortable living on-site in a remote bush environment

Candidates must be immediately available or able to start within 2 weeks (maximum 2-week notice period).
