Junior buyer (contract position)

Minimum requirements:

• Matric or relevant NQF 4 qualification
• Minimum 1+ years’ experience in a procurement or buying role
• Valid drivers licence and own vehicle
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic computer literacy
• Experience with the Syspro software system

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute local purchasing activities in collaboration with the Stores and Procurement Supervisor
• Place, manage, and track purchase orders in Syspro for materials, services, consumables, and tools
• Communicate with external suppliers regarding pricing, availability, certification, and delivery status
• Process workshop and office consumable orders to support operational requirements
• Follow up on supplier lead times to ensure on‑time delivery and continuity of operations
• Inspect received goods and coordinate quality inspections to ensure compliance with specifications
• Manage supplier NCRs in line with company supplier delivery procedures
• Coordinate and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers
• Liaise with stores on stock levels, conduct weekly stock reviews, and process orders accordingly
• Maintain and update the supplier database, source new suppliers, and control certified orders (e.g. Explolabs)
• Maintain accurate administrative records, filing, tool control, and stock take participation, and perform ad‑hoc duties as required
