Requirements
- BSc (Hons) Engineering Geology (minimum)
- Professional registration with SACNASP (essential)
- 10+ years practical experience in engineering geology
- Experience in geotechnical investigations across sectors (South Africa & Africa)
- Dolomite and rock engineering exposure advantageous
- Strong mentoring and supervisory ability
- Plan, execute, and report on geotechnical investigations
- Analyse and interpret geotechnical data
- Supervise contractors and junior staff on site
- Mentor graduates and junior geologists
- Deliver professional reports and presentations
- Provide technical solutions and ensure project delivery
- Prepare tenders, quotations, and cost estimates
- Build client relationships and contribute to internal standards
- Knowledge of local geology, legislation, and problem soils
- Excellent English communication and report writing
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Rocscience, GeoStudio, Leapfrog Works, QGIS/ArcGIS
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects)
- Programming (Python, Visual Basic) an advantage
