Senior Financial Manager

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education (essential):

• BCom Accounting / Finance or equivalent qualification
• CA(SA) preferred

Minimum applicable experience (years):

• 510 years relevant financial management experience
• Experience in a senior financial management role
• Manufacturing industry experience will be highly advantageous

Required nature of experience:

• Senior-level financial management experience
• Financial reporting and management accounting
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Financial analysis and commercial decision-making
• Management of financial controls and risk
• Experience within a manufacturing or similar operational environment
• Experience managing and developing finance staff

Other:

• Based in / able to commute to Centurion
• Own transport and valid driver's licence
• Strong English communication skills

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS, WEIGHTS AND OBJECTIVES

• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management.
• Analyse financial performance and provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Monitor financial results against budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify variances.
• Provide financial projections to support business planning and decision-making.
• Assist management with financial scenario planning.

• Maintain and strengthen effective financial controls and processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, legislation and company policies.
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Oversee internal and external audit processes.
• Ensure appropriate controls are in place to safeguard company assets and financial information.

• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management.
• Analyse business performance and identify opportunities for improved profitability.
• Provide financial input into operational and commercial decisions.
• Analyse costs, margins and profitability across the business.
• Support management with financial insights that contribute to business growth and sustainability.

• Lead, manage and develop the finance team.
• Set clear objectives and monitor team performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Drive efficiencies and automation within the finance function where appropriate.
