Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with routine servicing and maintenance of diesel engines, tractors, and farm equipment
• Support diagnostics and basic fault-finding on mechanical and electrical systems
• Carry out basic repairs under supervision
• Conduct inspections and report defects or potential issues
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working environment
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards
• Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when required
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (or equivalent)
• Basic mechanical/diesel training or certification
• 13 years relevant experience
• Basic understanding of diesel engines and mechanical systems
• Valid drivers license

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic fault-finding and problem-solving ability
• Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
• Good communication skills
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Attention to detail

Working Conditions:

• Combination of outdoor and workshop-based work
• Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and varying weather conditions
• Overtime or weekend work may be required during peak periods
