Placement Opportunity: Corporate Chef CPI (Midrand)

We are seeking a highly skilled, disciplined, and service-oriented Corporate Chef to join our Head Office Catering team in Midrand. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective meals, managing the in-house restaurant and coffee shop, coordinating corporate catering services, and maintaining exceptional hygiene, safety, and operational standards.

This role requires a hands-on professional who can balance culinary excellence with strong administration, stock control, and customer service performance in line with defined Key Performance Areas (KPAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities
  1. Menu Planning & Design
  • Plan and construct weekly breakfast and lunch menus for staff
  • Design customised menus for corporate events and meetings
  • Ensure menus are balanced, nutritious, and cost-effective
  • Adjust menu pricing in line with profitability targets
  • Obtain financial approval before implementing menu changes

  • Prepare meals for breakfast, lunch, and special events

  1. Stock Control, Procurement & Supplier Management
  • Order food, beverages, and coffee shop stock in advance
  • Schedule and verify deliveries
  • Conduct weekly stock checks and monthly stocktakes
  • Monitor expiry dates and reduce wastage
  • Manage departmental budgets and costings
  • Build strong supplier relationships

  • Open and close the coffee shop daily
  • Clean and maintain coffee machines and counters

Minimum Requirements
  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
  • Relevant qualification in Catering or Hospitality Management
  • Proven experience in a corporate or private chef environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
  • Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
