About the Role

A prestigious hotel in Cape Town is seeking a seasoned Senior Reservationist to join its dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless reservation processes, optimising occupancy, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical proficiency, leadership acumen, and a passion for hospitality excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reservation Management: Oversee all reservation inquiries and bookings across multiple channels, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Guest Relations: Provide prompt and courteous responses to guest inquiries, modifications, and special requests, enhancing overall satisfaction.
  • Revenue Optimisation: Implement upselling strategies and monitor room availability to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  • Team Collaboration: Liaise with front office, housekeeping, and sales departments to ensure cohesive operations and guest readiness.
  • System Proficiency: Utilise property management systems to manage bookings, generate reports, and maintain data integrity.
  • Training & Development: Mentor junior reservation staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management is advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a reservations role within the hospitality industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reservation software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong command of English.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong organisational abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach.
