Head of Finance
In some organisations, this role may be referred to as a Senior Finance Manager; however, the scope and influence of the position are aligned with a true finance leadership role.
Reporting into executive leadership, you will oversee a finance team comprising 2 direct reports and 18 indirect reports, driving financial performance, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the achievement of business objectives. This is a fully onsite role offering significant exposure to both operational and strategic aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the full finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Partner with operational and executive teams to provide strategic financial insights that support business decision-making.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management processes across the organisation.
- Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and overall financial health of the business.
- Provide detailed financial analysis and recommendations to support operational efficiency and profitability initiatives.
- Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely management accounts and executive reporting.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Education:- CA(SA) qualification is non-negotiable.
- CIMA qualification or studies completed will be advantageous.
- Minimum 10 years' finance experience, with significant exposure to senior finance leadership roles.
- Proven experience within the manufacturing industry is essential.
- Mining industry exposure will be highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing finance teams within operational environments.
- Strong understanding of financial strategy, business performance management, and commercial decision-making.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
