Part-Time Accountant | Remote (South Africa) | Permanent (25 hours per week)
Own the full finance function for a growing international business. Work independently while partnering closely with Directors to drive clarity and control.
This is a hands-on role supporting a UK-based multi-company group in the self-storage sector. You will take responsibility for end-to-end finance operations across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The environment is fast-paced and fully remote, requiring a confident, self-directed professional who can manage competing priorities and deliver consistent, high-quality outputs.
You will oversee daily bookkeeping, month-end close, VAT and payroll, cashflow management, and financial reporting. The role also includes direct liaison with HMRC, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing meaningful insights to support decision-making at Director level.

What You’ll Do- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping across multiple companies using cloud-based systems
- Process invoices, payments, and reconciliations with complete accuracy
- Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow
- Handle VAT submissions, payroll processing, and HMRC correspondence
- Maintain intercompany accounts, fixed asset registers, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage cashflow forecasting and weekly updates
- Oversee supplier payments, credit card expenses, and financial controls
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
- Identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities across the business
- Strong hands-on experience with Xero and OCR tools such as Hubdoc
- Proven experience working with UK companies and accounting standards
- Confidence in dealing directly with HMRC on VAT, payroll, and compliance matters
- Accounting qualification or at least 5 years in a senior bookkeeping or management accounting role
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability
- Experience managing multi-entity or group structures
- High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Clear communication skills and a proactive mindset
