Financial accountant

Company and Job Description:
You'll be part of a dynamic finance team responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining strong controls, and supporting key accounting functions across the business. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and has a passion for reconciliations, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
- Manage stock and fixed asset reconciliations
- Process journals, accruals, and month-end adjustments
- Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and statutory requirements
- Assist with the preparation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Conduct age analysis and maintain accurate financial records
- Assist with payment releases and cash management functions
- Support ad-hoc financial reporting and finance-related projects
Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential)
- 23 years' experience within a Financial Accountant or General Ledger Accountant role
- Completed SAICA articles advantageous
- Experience within the Automotive or Motor Industry preferred
- Strong reconciliation experience, including stock and fixed assets
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
- Experience with Macros advantageous
- Knowledge of Drive IA / Autoline advantageous
- Strong understanding of VAT, tax, and financial controls
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
