Temporary Bookkeeper (Maternity Cover 6 Month Contract)

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including capturing and processing supplier invoices, payments, and journals.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliations.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain the cashbook on a daily basis.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support the preparation of VAT returns and assist with audit readiness.
- Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve queries related to invoices, payments, and account discrepancies.
- Maintain proper filing and recordkeeping in compliance with company and audit requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and controls.
 Requirements:
- Qualification: Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping (or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 3â5 yearsâ bookkeeping experience, preferably within an FMCG, manufacturing, or export environment.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Pastel, or similar).
- Strong MS Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Sound understanding of VAT, reconciliations, and accounting procedures.
- Reliable, accurate, and deadline driven.
- Able to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Contract Details:
- Type: Fixed-term contract (Maternity Cover)
- Duration: Approximately 6 months
