Telemarketer (Telesales operator)

Position Overview

This role is key to building strong customer relationships, supporting field sales, and ensuring that our brand maintains a strong presence in the market.

• Conduct outbound calls to new and existing customers to promote products and services.
• Introduce product ranges, promotions, and seasonal offerings to food service clients (restaurants, hotels, wholesalers, retailers).
• Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling to maximize revenue.
• Follow up on leads, quotations, and pending orders to close sales.
• Processing catering equipment orders
• Participate in promotions to generate revenue for the business
• Maintain accurate records of all calls, leads, and customer interactionsÂ
• Assist in generating appointments for field sales representatives where necessary.
• Handle inbound calls, respond to customer queries, and process telephonic orders.
• Support marketing campaigns by engaging customers and promoting new launches.
• Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly call and sales targets.
• Provide feedback on customer needs, concerns, and market trends to the sales team.

• Matric / Grade 12 (essential).
• Relevant certificate or diploma in Sales / Marketing (advantageous).
• 1–3 years’ experience in telemarketing, telesales, or inside sales (preferably in FMCG / food services).
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Knowledge of FMCG and food service channels (advantageous).

• Excellent verbal communication and persuasion skills.
• Strong ability to engage customers and build rapport telephonically.
• Customer-service orientated with a positive and energetic approach.
• Target-driven with the ability to handle objections and close deals.
• Good organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Computer literacy: MS Office (preferably with Great Plains - advantageous)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable with high-volume outbound calling.
• Willingness to work flexible hours if required.
• Reside within reasonable distance of the office.
