Operations manager for manufacturing and finance is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing budgets and financial data, and ensuring operational efficiency in a manufacturing setting. Key duties include leading production planning, quality assurance, inventory control, and staff supervision, while also analyzing financial metrics and implementing process improvements to reduce costs and increase profitability.
This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, and project management skills.
Key responsibilities
  • Production and Operations: Manage all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, inventory control, quality assurance, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Financial Management: Oversee budgets, monitor financial data, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve profitability and control costs.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality and cycle times.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and support a team to meet performance targets and maintain efficiency.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic operational plans, working with other departments to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and report on KPIs and financial metrics to the executive team, using data to drive decision-making.
Required skills and qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a strong financial background.
  • Financial Skills: Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial data analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with process improvement methodologies (like operational excellence) and project management. Familiarity with ERP systems and relevant finance software is often required.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership ability and excellent communication skills to manage teams and collaborate with other departments.
  • Analytical and Organizational Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and outstanding organizational skills to manage complex processes.
  • Education: A bachelor''s degree in Business, Operations Management, or a related field is often preferred.
