Maintenance Manager

Doornkraal Agri, based in the Witzenberg Valley in Ceres, is a leading and well-established producer of apples, pears, nectarines and cherries.

The company has an exciting career opportunity for a hard-working and task-orientated Maintenance Manager, responsible for the maintenance, repairs and projects at all Doornkraal Agri’s production units. The successful incumbent will report to the General Manager: Production.

Responsibilities:

• Development, implementation and management of maintenance plan (proactive & reactive maintenance & repairs)
• Effective maintenance and repair of all equipment, property, buildings, employee housing, workshops & vehicles
• Develop and manage project plans
• Procurement of stock and equipment / tools
• Cost / budget management in conjunction with General Manager: Production
• Management of maintenance team (including 2x Workshop Managers) and service providers
• Health & Safety management / compliance

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Qualified Artisan / Trade test (preferably as Diesel Mechanic)
• Other relevant trade qualifications (Mechanical / Electrical) will be beneficial
• 5-10 years’ experience in maintenance (fruit industry experience will be advantageous)
• Well-developed technical knowledge and experience
• Supervisory and/or management experience
• Well-developed computer literacy (MS Office: Excel)
• Well-developed communication skills (spoken and written Afrikaans and English)
• Planning and organisational skills
• Well-developed leadership & management skills
• Dynamic, self-driven and assertive
