Minimum Requirements

The successful candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification, such as BSc Computer Science, BSc Information Technology, BTech Information Technology, BCom Informatics or Information Systems.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years hands-on technical development experience on Oracle E-Business Suite version 12.2 and higher.
  • Proven track record of delivering RICEFW objects, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms and Workflows, within a project and/or support environment.
  • Experience working in a regulated or financial services environment will be strongly advantageous.
  • Experience operating within ITIL-governed or CAB-controlled change management environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within structured SDLC and Oracle AIM/OUM methodology frameworks.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation that is accessible to functional and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with DBA teams, functional resources, HR, Finance and audit stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a structured team.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical solutions across the Oracle EBS modules used within the client environment, in accordance with organisational governance, audit, security and change management standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide advanced Oracle EBS technical development and third-level technical support.
  • Develop, enhance, support and maintain Oracle EBS technical components across relevant modules.
  • Support upgrades, patching, enhancements and third-party integrations.
  • Deliver RICEFW objects in line with approved business and technical requirements.
  • Support integration and reporting requirements between Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion HCM.
  • Analyse, troubleshoot and resolve complex Oracle application and database-related issues.
  • Produce clear, auditable technical documentation, including functional and technical design documents.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and ensure adherence to agreed development standards.
  • Work closely with DBA teams, functional consultants, HR, Finance and audit stakeholders.
  • Escalate technical risks, blockers and scope deviations to the Application Manager timeously and in writing.
  • Ensure all development activities are performed within approved environments and in line with the clients governance and change control processes.

Technical Skills and Experience

Core Development Skills
  • Advanced PL/SQL development, including stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, bulk processing and performance tuning.
  • SQL and Oracle Database development, including complex queries, query optimisation and execution plan analysis.
  • Unix/Linux shell scripting for concurrent program wrappers and automation.
  • Oracle Application Object Library, including menus, responsibilities, concurrent programs, request groups, value sets and descriptive flexfields.
RICEFW Development
  • Reports: Oracle XML Publisher/BI Publisher, data templates, RTF templates, report registration and scheduling.
  • Interfaces: Oracle EBS Open Interfaces and base table loading, including inbound and outbound interface design.
  • Conversions: Data migration and conversion using SQL*Loader, open interfaces and staging table architecture; CEMLI framework experience.
  • Extensions: Oracle Application Framework, including controller and VO extensions, personalisation and custom pages.
  • Forms: Oracle Forms, Custom.pll, Forms Personalisation, triggers, built-ins and custom libraries.
  • Workflows: Oracle Workflow Builder and AME configuration and extension.
Reporting and Analytics
  • Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher, including advanced report development.
  • Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, including subject area configuration, dashboard and report development. Awareness-level experience is acceptable, although development experience will be advantageous.
  • Oracle Discoverer, OTBI and FDI awareness will be advantageous.
Integration and APIs
  • Oracle EBS REST APIs and SOAP Web Services, including design, consumption and troubleshooting.
  • Oracle Integration Cloud integration development and monitoring.
  • Awareness of EBS Adapter and HCM Adapter patterns.
  • Experience with data conversions, legacy system migrations and ETL patterns within an Oracle EBS context.
Oracle Fusion Cloud Awareness
  • Understanding of Oracle HCM Cloud integration patterns.
  • Understanding of coexistence architecture between Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud.
Platform and Environment
  • Oracle EBS version 12.2.8 and higher is mandatory.
  • Awareness of the AD/TXK patching cycle.
  • Oracle APEX application development and integration with EBS will be advantageous.
  • Oracle Database 12c and higher, including tablespace management, schema management and performance tuning awareness.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Support, including SR logging, patch research and patch assessments.

Quality, Governance and Compliance Requirements

Services must be delivered in accordance with the clients organisational governance, audit and control standards. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Produce technical deliverables that are auditable and aligned to documented business processes.
  • Adhere to the organisations CAB and ITIL-governed change management processes.
  • Ensure all changes are logged, approved and accompanied by back-out plans prior to implementation.
  • Comply with organisational information security standards, including POPIA obligations governing personal data processed through Oracle EBS and integrated systems.
  • Maintain version-controlled technical documentation for all CEMLI objects, including Functional Design Documents, Technical Design Documents and unit test evidence.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and apply agreed coding standards.
  • Escalate technical risks, blockers and scope deviations to the Application Manager timeously and in writing.
  • Ensure no development activity is performed directly in the production environment outside of an approved emergency change process.
