Mining Underwriter

This role sits at the intersection of finance, risk, and the mining industry, offering exposure to complex transactions and high-value clients. You will play a key role in assessing risk, structuring guarantee solutions, and supporting strategic deals across the mining sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse financial statements and assess creditworthiness of mining clients
- Evaluate operational and financial risks within mining businesses
- Structure and underwrite guarantee facilities
- Manage and build relationships with clients and brokers
- Support deal structuring on complex and high-value transactions
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and market risks
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Commerce, Mining Engineering, Law, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in credit, financial services, insurance, or mining
- Strong financial analysis and risk assessment capability
Highly Advantageous:
- CA(SA), CFA, or MBA
- FAIS compliance and RE5
