Commercial Litigation Secretary (Junior)

Responsibilities
  • Drafting, formatting, and typing a wide range of documents, including dictaphone typing
  • Preparing and amending commercial agreements, including cross-referencing clauses
  • Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence
  • Screening calls, taking messages, and providing administrative support to the team
  • Preparing client accounts and assisting with billing processes
  • Following up on outstanding payments and maintaining debtor records
  • Managing compliance-related administrative tasks and ensuring required documentation is complete
  • Conducting legal research and retrieving relevant information from electronic databases
  • Maintaining and organising client and matter files (electronic and hard copy)
  • Ensuring filing systems are accurate, up to date, and easily accessible
  • Providing general administrative support to ensure efficient practice operations
Requirements
  • Matric (essential)
  • Relevant qualification in legal secretarial or paralegal studies (advantageous)
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar commercial/legal secretarial role
  • Dictaphone Typing & Copy typing (essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
