Financial Administrator

PURPOSE OF FUNCTION
To provide essential support to the finance department by assisting with day-to-day financial tasks and transactions, maintaining accurate records, basic reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS- Banking & finance operations
- Cashbook, petty cash and transaction processing
- Debtors and creditors processing Audit and Secretarial compliance
- Government incentives and insurance claims
- General administration
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (OUTPUTS)
INPUTS
Banking and finance operations- Update daily bank position
- Load and release local and foreign payments and receipts
- Assist with financing of assets with the bank
- Apply for Reserve Bank approval when required
- Cashbook processing and reconciliation
- Petty cash processing and reconciliation
- Cashbook/Petty cash movement report
- Creditors invoice processing
- Creditors and Debtors reconciliations
- Update debtors’ receipts and circulation thereof
- Processing of all financial transactions up until trial balance stage
- Assist with financial budgets and reporting when required
- Submit secretarial documents required by auditors for annual returns
- Assist with auditors’ queries
- Assist with financial and statutory compliance and governance requirements
- Assist with government incentive applications.
- Assist and submit insurance claims when required
- Circulation of foreign exchange rates daily
- Perform general administrative tasks
- Completion and Submission Stats SA questionnaires and surveys.
- Maintaining accurate financial records, filing and documentation
- Assist the CFO with various other tasks as and when required.
Required skills:
- Accounting knowledge
- Experience with accounting/financial systems (Preferably Syspro Software knowledge)
- Proficient in MS office
- Analytical & Numerical proficiency
- Attention to detail
- Organisational and Time Management
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to work under pressure
