Logistics Team Leader
Are you an experienced logistics professional with a passion for leading teams and keeping operations running like clockwork? Our client is looking for a Team Leader to take full ownership of the Proteins division within their Logistics Department, based in Koelenhof, Stellenbosch.
About the role
Reporting to the Logistics Manager – Execution and Process Optimisation, you'll oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly operational and administrative functions of the team. This is a hands-on leadership position covering everything from vessel planning and inventory management to invoicing, compliance reporting, and client communication.
Key responsibilities- Manage daily financial and administrative processes, including invoicing, cost reconciliation, and cash forecasting
- Plan and coordinate vessel shipments for imports and exports, liaising with silos, terminals, and transport providers
- Oversee inventory balances and reconciliations across local and inland facilities
- Submit statutory returns (including SAGIS) and maintain accurate operational reports
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of logistics controllers and an administrative clerk
- Matric plus a diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics operations
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
- Sound knowledge of import/export processes and inventory management
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
- Ability to work under pressure and outside standard hours when required
