Accountant

My client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting sound financial decision-making, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.

This role is based in Hartbeespoort Dam, North West.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and oversee the integrity of financial records in line with applicable legislation and accounting standards.
• Produce reliable management reports and financial information to support business planning and decision-making.
• Take full ownership of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including the processing and reconciliation of cashbook transactions.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with accounting frameworks, such as IFRS/GAAP, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the fixed asset registers, ensuring that assets are accurately recorded, reviewed, and signed off on a monthly basis.
• Prepare financial statements, as well as assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Monitor and analyse departmental budgets, comparing actual results against forecasts and identifying variances.
• Ensure compliance with tax legislation and manage the preparation and submission of VAT, dividends tax, and income tax returns.
• Provide ad hoc financial support and assist with additional finance-related tasks as required.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8 years experience in finance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-volume environment.
