Senior Financial Accountant – International Logistics

The Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role within the finance function, taking responsibility for balance sheet integrity, inter‑company reconciliations, and month‑end close activities. Working closely with the Finance Manager and cross‑border stakeholders, this role supports accurate reporting, audit readiness, and financial control across multiple entities and currencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls
• Manage and resolve inter‑company reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies
• Support month‑end close activities, including journals, accruals, and validations
• Partner with the Finance Manager to monitor vendor reconciliations and clearing accounts
• Monitor cash clearing accounts and support supplier payment approvals
• Lead external audit processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and resolution of audit queries
• Manage VAT submissions and support corporate tax accounting requirements
• Drive process improvements aligned to group finance policies and risk controls
• Support ERP system usage, reporting dashboards, and financial data integrity

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Education:
• Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential)
• Professional accounting qualification (advantageous)
• Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role
• Strong inter‑company accounting experience
• Proven exposure to multi‑currency and multi‑entity environments
• Skills:
• Strong balance sheet and reconciliation capability
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills
• ERP system experience essential (SUN / TMFF advantageous)
• Experience with financial dashboards and reporting tools
• High attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Preferred:
• Experience within an international, high‑volume transactional environment
• Exposure to the logistics, freight forwarding, or similar industries
