Our client is a respected financial services provider specializing in Healthy Home Insurance. They are looking for a dedicated and empathetic Short-Term Claims Consultant to join their dynamic team in Pretoria.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims Processing: Manage the full end-to-end claims journey, including registration, assessment, validation, and settlement. You will ensure all claims are captured accurately in the management system and processed within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Client Service: Act as a professional and empathetic point of contact for clients. You will gather necessary documentation, explain processes clearly, provide regular updates, and escalate complex or disputed claims to the Team Leader when necessary.
Investigation & Assessment: Verify claim validity by reviewing documentation and conducting investigations. You will collaborate with assessors and experts to determine accurate damages/costs, while proactively identifying and reporting potential fraud or suspicious activity.
Collaboration: Work closely with third-party service providers (assessors, repairers) to facilitate swift claims resolutions, and collaborate with your team to improve internal processes.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all claims handling practices consistently align with company policies, industry regulations, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles. You will also prepare and submit claims reports to the Team Leader as required.
Job Requirements:
Matric Certificate.
RE5 Regulatory Examination certificate.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in short-term insurance claims processing (specifically focusing on building and content).
Prior experience within the insurance or financial services industry is essential.
Strong, foundational knowledge of non-motor short-term insurance products and claims workflows.
High level of attention to detail and sharp accuracy.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and specialized claims management systems.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, make sound decisions, and manage multiple tasks.
