Debtors Clerk

Start Date: Urgent

Job Purpose:

To ensure the efficient management of debtor accounts by maintaining accurate records, processing invoices, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments in line with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Capture and maintain accurate debtor records on the accounting system
• Generate and issue invoices, statements, and credit notes
• Monitor debtor accounts to ensure timely payments
• Follow up on outstanding accounts via phone, email, and other communication channels
• Allocate payments received and reconcile customer accounts
• Investigate and resolve account queries and discrepancies
• Prepare age analysis reports and provide feedback to management
• Maintain proper filing and record-keeping of all debtor documentation
• Assist with month-end closing processes related to debtors

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Proven experience as a Debtors Clerk or in a similar finance role
• Pastel accounting software experience is essential
• Strong understanding of debtors and accounts receivable processes
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
