Financial Manager

The role will be responsible for the full financial management function, providing accurate financial information, strengthening financial controls and supporting the business with meaningful financial insights.

• Oversee the full finance function and ensure accurate and timely financial processing.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.

• Oversee client billing and revenue processes.
• Monitor work-in-progress, unbilled revenue and outstanding invoices.
• Ensure accurate and timely invoicing based on billable hours and client engagements.
• Monitor debtor collections and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Analyze revenue, profitability and recovery rates across client matters or engagements.

• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Manage cash flow and working capital.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions.
• Review reconciliations and ensure financial records are accurate and complete.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and efficiencies.
• Liaise with auditors, external advisors, banking partners and other relevant stakeholders as required.

• CA(SA) qualification is essential.
• Previous experience as a Financial Manager or in a senior finance position.
• Experience within a professional services environment such as an advisory firm, law firm, consulting firm, accounting practice or similar.
• Experience in a business where revenue is generated through billable hours, client engagements or professional services.
• Strong financial reporting and management accounting experience.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Strong understanding of revenue, billing, debtors and work-in-progress.
• Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial information at a detailed level.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
