We’re seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join their culinary team and play a key role in supporting the Demi and Chef de Partie while delivering high

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring high standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
Section Support
  • Support Demi Chefs and Chef de Partie in managing specific sections of the kitchen.
  • Carry out basic cooking and plating under supervision, learning proper kitchen techniques.
Consistency and Quality
  • Follow hotel recipes and standards to ensure consistency in all dishes prepared.
Training & Development
  • Participate in on-the-job training and guidance from senior kitchen staff.
  • Learn safe food handling, hygiene practices, and kitchen procedures.
Inventory & Stock Control
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies for your section, and managing ingredients to minimize waste.
Health, Safety & Hygiene
  • Maintain strict hygiene and health and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Follow all food safety regulations and proper PPE use.
Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in problem-solving during service to maintain efficiency.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
  • Culinary diploma or equivalent training is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and cooking techniques.
Experience
  • Minimum 0–2 years’ experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a hotel or reputable restaurant.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work under supervision.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen procedures.
  • Good time management, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
