My client in the Service industry is seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator on a 7 month contract to manage a team and oversee key client accounts in the Shared Services environment. This role requires a payroll execution specialist to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of monthly payrolls to clients, while maintaining excellent client relationships and ensuring compliance with tax and labor legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management: Oversee a portfolio of payroll clients, fostering strong relationships, managing risks, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Payroll Compliance: Stay up-to-date with tax and labor legislation, ensuring team compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor payroll processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to service level agreements (SLA). Identify areas for process improvement.
  • Business Planning & Payroll Execution: Ensure monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll processes are completed as per client agreements. Manage resource allocation and resolve client issues.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior team members, ensuring adherence to payroll systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Completed Payroll qualification

Skills:

  • 5-8 years of experience in an outsourcing/shared service payroll environment, including team leadership.
  • PAYSPACE is non-negotiable.
  • Strong leadership and administration skills.
  • Extensive payroll knowledge, with proficiency in computerized payroll and HR systems.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (formatting, sorting, basic math, filters, etc.).
