- Assist in the preparation of all pastries, desserts, breads, and confectionery
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organisation
- Support inventory management and stock control for the pastry section
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service delivery
- Contribute to recipe development and seasonal menu updates
- 24 years experience working in a pastry or bakery environment
- Culinary diploma or formal training in pastry arts is preferred
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, doughs, and dessert preparation
- Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP)
- Strong attention to detail and a creative approach to presentation
- Ability to work early mornings and weekends as required
- South African citizenship or permanent residency
- Prepare pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to set recipes and standards
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all products
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry kitchen
- Assist with stock ordering, storage, and rotation
- Follow all health and safety protocols strictly
- Support the Head Pastry Chef during service and special events
- Participate in team training and development activities
