This is a hands-on role where you'll dive deep into on-page, technical, and off-page SEO, working across content, analytics, and strategy. Key Responsibilities
SEO Strategy & Execution- Develop and implement SEO strategies that align with business objectives.
- Conduct keyword research to identify high-value opportunities.
- Optimise website content, meta tags, structured data, and internal linking for better search performance.
- Support technical SEO audits, resolving issues like crawlability, indexation, and site speed.
- Assist in backlink analysis and outreach to maintain a strong, healthy link profile.
- Work closely with developers and UX teams to integrate SEO best practices into site architecture and performance enhancements.
- Support local SEO efforts, including Google Business Profile optimisation.
- Track and report on SEO performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Monitor competitor SEO strategies, identifying gaps and opportunities.
- Provide actionable insights based on data analysis to improve rankings and traffic.
- Work closely with content teams to ensure SEO best practices are embedded into blog articles, landing pages, and product descriptions.
- Align with marketing and performance teams to ensure SEO integrates seamlessly with broader digital campaigns.
- Present SEO insights, recommendations, and performance reports to internal teams and clients.

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Skills- ~3 years of SEO experience (agency or in-house).
- Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification (marketing-specific) are essential.
- Strong understanding of Google’s ranking algorithms, EEAT principles, and technical SEO.
- Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and third-party SEO platforms.
- Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress).
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (a plus, but not mandatory).
- Experience with schema markup and structured data implementation.
- Ability to interpret SEO data and performance insights to drive decision-making.
- Telecommunications and financial services sector experience advantageous.
- The role is JHB-based, and a valid driver’s license / reliable transport are required.
