Role Overview
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing the full accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, maintaining reconciliations, and supporting month-end financial activities. This role is critical in maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring financial integrity across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Process and verify supplier invoices in line with company policies
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Prepare and execute payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations and journals
- Generate accounts payable reports (e.g. aging, cash flow insights)
- Support audits by providing relevant financial documentation
- Ensure supplier compliance (including BBBEE requirements)
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor balances
- Process GRVs and validate supplier invoice accuracy
- Bachelor qualification in finance or related field
- Minimum5 years experiencein accounts payable / creditors
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and reconciliations
- Experience working onPastel Evolution or similar systems
- Advanced Excel skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
