The Role: Sales Manager South African Product Portfolio

This role exists to manage, develop, and direct the South African team of sales representatives to successfully promote the companys product portfolio. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Sales Manager ensures the team attains or exceeds sales volumes and monthly budgets through on-the-job coaching and strategic territory action plans.

The position focuses on managing key accounts and leveraging networks to drive long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct a team of eight sales representatives to achieve sales volumes and monthly budgets.
  • Spend 70% of time in the field providing on-the-job coaching, feedback, and performance monitoring for the sales team.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive Territory Action Plans (TAP) based on focused analysis and long-term business objectives.
  • Manage specific strategic key accounts and engage customers in solution development to build brand loyalty.
  • Oversee administrative systems, including CRM requirements, sales reporting, and budget spend analysis.
  • Collaborate with the CEO to execute marketing strategies and facilitate interdepartmental communication.
  • Ensure team adherence to Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) risks, regulations, and reporting procedures.
About You
  • 3-5 years of sales and marketing experience is required.
  • Management experience is critical, with a proven track record of managing a sales team and providing professional coaching.
  • Must be able to travel monthly to coastal regions of South Africa and into Africa as required.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions from various info sources and identify cause-and-effect relationships.
  • Fully computer literate with strong Excel skills and proficiency in working with data and CRM systems.
  • Strategic thinker who can act decisively under pressure and hold others accountable.
  • Collaborative communicator who respects diverse views and builds strong networks.
  • Experience in the food or flavours industry is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience in sales and sales management in African markets is an advantage.
  • A relevant tertiary business qualification is considered an advantage.
