About the Role
The Operations Assistant will support the day-to-day coordination of transport activities and work closely with drivers and internal staff. This is not a senior role and is best suited to someone who is hands-on, willing to pitch in, and comfortable working in a small team environment.During peak agricultural seasons, extended working hours may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting with daily transport and operational activities
- Liaising directly with drivers and supporting them as needed
- Capturing and updating operational information on internal systems
- General administrative support using Word, Excel and Outlook
- Assisting across functions when required due to the small team structure
- Supporting extended operational hours during peak season
- Afrikaans speaking (used for the majority of daily communication)
- Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Comfortable working with drivers and operational staff
- Willing to work flexible and extended hours during busy periods
- Transport or logistics experience advantageous
- Practical, adaptable mindset suited to a small company environment
- Exposure to the logistics and agricultural transport sector
- Hands-on experience in a small, operationally focused business
- On-the-job training on the companys internal systems
- Negotiable salary based on experience
