Financial Accountant
A well-established organisation within the logistics industry is seeking to appoint a dynamic Financial Accountant to join their finance team based in Edenvale. This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function within a growing and operationally focused business.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a BCom-qualified professional with completed SAICA articles and 34 years post-article experience who thrives in a hands-on environment. The successful candidate will be a go-getter with a strong personality, capable of managing deadlines, improving processes, and adding value across the business.
The appointed individual will work closely with management, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining controls, and supporting operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full finance function, including reporting and compliance
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Handle reconciliations, journals, and general ledger maintenance
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements
- Maintain and improve financial controls and processes
- Support audits and liaise with external auditors
- Provide financial insights to support business operations
Job Experience & Qualifications:
- BCom degree (minimum requirement)
- Completed SAICA articles
- 34 years post-articles experience
- Proven experience in the full finance function
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical ability
- Strong personality with a proactive, go-getter attitude
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
