Financial Accountant
My client, a well-established player in the distribution and warehousing sector, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team based in Springs. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and is eager to take responsibility for core accounting functions while managing a junior team member.
Reporting to senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong controls, and supporting business decision-making. With one junior direct report, this role offers the opportunity to develop leadership capability while remaining operationally involved.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance
- Managing general ledger, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Overseeing and mentoring one junior direct report
- Assisting with budgets, forecasts, and audit processes
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Education: BCom Degree (Accounting or Finance essential)
- Experience: Proven experience in a Financial Accountant role, preferably within distribution, warehousing, or similar operational environments
- Leadership: Experience managing or supervising junior staff advantageous
- Skills: Strong Excel skills; ERP system experience beneficial
- Other: Strong attention to detail, deadline-driven, and able to work independently
