Dental assistant/dental reception | linksfield, johannesburg
A Dental Practice in Linksfield, Johannesburg, is seeking a vibrant, well-presented and efficient Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a dual-role position, requiring a candidate who is comfortable assisting clinically while also managing front desk and administrative responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Registered with the HPCSA (essential)
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant
- Comfortable performing both clinical and reception/administrative duties
- Computer literate
- Experience with Exact Dental Software will be advantageous
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Professional, friendly and compassionate approach towards patients and colleagues
- Able to work well under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Strong initiative, good judgement and attention to detail
- High level of professionalism with a clear understanding of patient confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Chairside assistance during all dental procedures
- Preparing patients for treatment and ensuring patient comfort
- Sterilisation and infection control in accordance with practice protocols
- Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms before and after procedures
- Handling, cleaning and maintaining dental instruments and equipment
- Welcoming patients and managing the reception area
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Answering telephone calls and assisting with patient enquiries
- Assisting with dental records, charting and capturing treatment notes where required
- Stock control of clinical materials and supplies
- General administrative duties and providing support to the dentists
- Ensuring strict adherence to patient confidentiality and practice standards

The successful candidate must be flexible, dependable and able to use initiative while maintaining a caring, professional and patient-focused approach at all times.
