Requirements
Purpose of the role:
To safely transport school children to & from schools in & around Howick daily. To transport sick workers to doctor’s rooms/hospitals/clinics when necessary. This involves operating the Quantum school bus, adhering to traffic laws, and providing excellent customer service while ensuring passenger safety and comfort.They also need to maintain the cleanliness, safety and basic functionality of the vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
Safe Transportation:
- Operating the bus, following traffic laws, and ensuring the safety of all passengers throughout the journey.
Adherence to Schedule:
- Following the designated route and schedule, making stops at assigned locations, and ensuring timely arrival at destinations.
Customer Service:
- Providing excellent customer service to passengers, including assisting with boarding and disembarking, answering questions about routes and schedules, and addressing any concerns.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues, and maintaining the cleanliness of the bus interior.
Communication:
- Maintaining communication with dispatchers or supervisors, reporting any incidents or issues, and providing clear and concise information to passengers.
Record Keeping:
- Completing necessary paperwork, such as accident reports, vehicle inspections or mileage logs.
Education:
- Grade 12
Experience:
- +5 years relevant driving experience.
- Code C1 Valid driver’s license
- PDP
